Winter and health cautions

 WINTER AND HEALTH CAUTIONS

Most of us are unaware of things that are dangerous in winter with respect to winter and cold climate. Usually, cool atmosphere and winter climates makes us lazy, we stay bit dormant. Main thing that we witness is, we do not drink enough water, not even the quantity that we drink normally. May all these contribute for the risks of being ill.

Brain stroke, heart attack, asthma, bronchiolitis, flu, etc are the vulnerable diseases. Doctors say, the platelets become sticky and the blood pressure increases in the morning. So they suggest elderly people to avoid going out till the sun shines. It would also be better to adopt some consumption in the diet to have warm effect. Use of ghee, black pepper, almonds, oranges, honey, ginger, tamarind, garlic, eggs, tulsi, etc will help against cold.

What is brain stroke then???

As now, everyone should know about this as it is a common disease nowadays. It happens the blood vessel  in the brain ruptures and bleeds, which is called as haemorrhagic stroke, or, when the blood supply is blocked in the brain, which is called as ischemic stroke. All these will prevent the carriage of blood, the oxygen do not reach the brain. By this, the brain cells decline or die and nothing goes normally in the brain. Brain stroke is also called as brain attack or cerebrovascular accident. Some people may suffer temporary disruption of blood flow to the brain and is known as transient ischemic attack. Medications like tPA, a clot buster is used to minimize damages. People who undergo stroke may experience muscle weakness, slurred speech, sudden or temporary vision loss, blurred vision, overactive reflexes, paralysis of one side body, etc.

What happens in the case of heart attacks in the winter???

It is reported that there is a drastic increase in the number of cases of heart attacks in the month of December and January. Winter gives less than 12 hours of day and more than 12 hours of night. This major changes results in major problems. Cortisol is a hormone which induces extra pressure on the heart. Such balance of hormones may slip. The coldness in winter makes the  walls of the arteries hard, and this results in difficulties for the flow of blood across the walls, that decreases the oxygen supply in turn. In addition, heart works hard to keep up the body warm , and for this it requires more oxygen. We eat more and also due to avoid coldness. All these increases weight that risks for heart diseases. Avoiding junks and adding green vegetables would keep us away from these dangers.

Hope the readers have gained some awareness and knowledge about things that happen during winter days. Let's put our effort to stay healthy ever.
