Significance of seasonal fruits and vegetables


Every time we choose what our tongue asks for. Always certain
groups of healthy eatables are left as it is. One such healthy eatables
include seasonal fruits and vegetables. Tongue may at least welcome

fruits but not vegetables. It is important to give importance for such
food, because it has it’s own importance.

Very firstly, let's know what is meant by seasonal food?

Certain products are grown or harvested only at particular time
or times in a year. These food will give particular nutrient or flavour
in their seasons. This signifies that a seasonal food provides nutrients
in addition and these nutrients are the needs of particular season.

Consuming seasonal food in turn means being environment friendly.

For example; Beets are the vegetables that are winter seasonal.
Consumption of this veggie will prevent the risk of heart diseases and
improves blood circulation. It is known that the platelets in winter
become sticky and reduces the flowing efficiency of blood, resulting
in mentioned problems.

In the same way Indian origin apples are winter seasonal and these
also take up function as that of the beets. In addition it boosts
immune system and performs anti oxidation. Therefore,
consumption of these will keep us away from risks
