VISION OF DIFFERENT ANIMALS

Vision is the sense that helps the organisms to see the world. As humans our cones can detect red, green and  blue but, different animal cones detect different  colour. Thus their visions are different. Here is a list of  few animals with different vision.

Dogs

Dogs have dichromatic vision ,their cones are sensitive to blue and yellow. They have more rods compared to  humans hence they have better night vision than  humans. They have better peripheral vision than humans. Some dogs might have near-sightedness or farsightedness.

Cats

Cats cannot distinguish red and green colours. Cats can see sic times better than humans in dark. They have ultraviolet vison vision. They are near-sighted which means they cannot see far objects

Horse

Horse have largest eye compared to any land mammal. They naturally see blue and green colour spectrum but cannot distinguish red colour. They have good night vision but they cannot discriminate fine detail. Horse have excellent peripheral vision.

Cows

Cows have excellent vision, they can almost see in 360-degree panoramic vision. They normally see bigger than humans. Cow distinguish colours like red , orange ,yellow. They cannot distinguish green, blue, purple and grey .Cows have poor depth perception.

SHARK

Shark has nearly 360 degree field of vision. They can see 10 times better than human in dim light. Shark has the ability to change their field of vision from stereoscopic to monocular Their field of vision is only about 15 meters which means it need to get close to prey in order to make a attack.

SNAKE

Snake has poor vision which is why they stick out their tounge all the time to get a sense of their surrounding. Snakes are dichromatic they can see blue and green colour .Many snakes have develop sensitivity to UV light

BIRDS

Birds are tetrachromats they have four cones that helps to see UV ,blue ,green and red. They has the ability to see whole spectrum of colours that are not visible by us.
